Line Stretcher - Surface Tension Lure
This lure is something unique. I discovered it when I was living in the US years ago. It was recommended to me on a forum about striped bass fishing. They said that it was a topwater lure irresistible for bluefish.
I ordered some, the price was also to good to pass.
I tried it for the first time in Connecticut on a nice summer morning. It casted a mile and I had an attack by a 2lb bluefish on my fourth cast. After a couple of more casts I got my bluefish. The lure likes a skipping type very fast retrieve. That is where it really shines. Reel in fast and the lure will skip on the water like a mullet. Amazing lure.
What is so special about the Surface Tension? The price is great, the body is indestructible made by ABS plastic. The internal wire construction is a thru-wire type. The shape is weird, doesn't look like a fish and even the eyes don't help a lot. The secret is in the middle channel that gives the lure a darting action.
It is really a great lure. I didn't have the chance to catch anything here back in Europe but I have a friend that is having great results!!! (check below). I think in Europe it would work great for Dorado, Bluefish, barracuda and leerfish.
It is made by an American company named Line Stretcher (nice name huh!?) and is made in the U.S.A.
It comes in 4 sizes and vivid florescent colors. The back has a single hook. I usually change it with a Owner Aki or Decoy hook. It is your choice.
Sizes:
3/4 oz = 21 gr.
1 oz = 28 gr.
1 1/4 oz = 35 gr.
2 oz = 56 gr.
3 oz. =85 gr.

Meiho Versus 310
I have already wrote about Meiho in this post. I think they are the best company making tackle boxes in the world. The outstanding quality and the large array of products proves it.
Recently I had the chance to order a small hinged tackle box for my ultralight tackle.
It is a Versus 310 model (size: 114x63x34mm) and is ideal for small items such as hook, swivels, snaps, split rings, or some ultralight soft bait setup.
The 310 model comes with 7 medium sized and 2 small compartments. I used the big ones for my softbaits. The 50mm sized worms and mini shads fit with no problems. I can even add a couple of mini jigs (like this one) with no problem. The hinges are strong and overall the box seems very sturdy.
When I go ultralight fishing, this small 310 is enough to carry all my tackle in one place. It even comes with a lanyard but I don't use it.
You can find it online here

Saltwater Rusty Memories
I follow many blogs. Actually it was the pleasure of reading and enjoying other blogs that has lead me to open my personal blog on fishing.
There is one blog that I have been following for a long time and that Iwant to share here. It is named Saltwater Rusty Memories and it is written by Capitan Rusty Hook. If you are looking for a blog about tackle news, nice videos, gear reviews, interesting lures, skilled lure builders, tackle tests and so on, you can't skip this one.
The only drawback is that it is written in Italian but this should not be a problem. In facti, in my opinion, the language of fishing is "universal" and you can enjoy it without having to know any Italian. The blogs has visitors from all over the world and it keeps growing day after day. I think the love for fishing doesn't have any boundaries. I have visitors from all over the world as well. It is all about the passion that keep us connected.
Hats off to the Captain Rusty. He puts lots of time on this blog. I know from experience how much effort is needed in order to research and write almost on a daily basis.
Give it a look. I am sure you will enjoy it. The posts are great, the amount of fishing related links is enormous. Good work Rusty!

Cloud Nine Tackle
It is a brand new online Japanese tackle store run by Jed Tokutomi. It opened a month ago and it has already become one of my favorites stores for my JDM tackle shopping.
There are many reasons why it gained my attention in such a short time.
First of all Jed is an avid angler with an immense knowledge on saltwater fishing and he is very kind and helpful with customers. You can ask him a question via email and he will reply you back in a short time. I give importance to this kind of "warm" relations between customer and store owner. It is not just about buying, but also about learning the products, making the right choices and sharing the experience. I enjoy shopping from C9 as much as talking before ordering. Getting advice on what gear will work or not is critical for fishing. I ask him about lines, reels, lures, hooks and he always points you to the right direction.

| Neat and crisp design |
Again, it is not only how Jed offers his products but also what he offers. His store is always a "work in progress" as he adds new products on a daily basis. You should check the store very often and see what he has put on his neatly designed/modern looking store. Sometimes he puts some incredible sales that last only 48 to 72 hours. It is all real, no tricks, the prices really go down for a couple of days and you get some really great bargains. Also you can find outlet products at great prices. Products that are brand new but sold without boxes.

| An Outlet Item |
As for products range, well, it gets better day after day. He has already added many reels from Daiwa and Shimano. Available also some nice rods from the best brands and many type of saltwater lures.
Also every product he puts on the website has a good description and personal recommendations. For instance he tells you that a certain lure will work better with a bigger hook or vice-versa. All tricks and feedback that you don't always get online.
Jed is also active online with a Facebook Page and a blog. I would recommend to follow him. This is not just a tackle shop blog, it is Jed's fishing passion. Photos of kayak fishing, nice places, new products etc. Everything is there.
Just wanted to share this great shop. If you are a JDM tackle enthusiast like myself, you will enjoy it a lot!
Thanks Jed!
